CORNET project SensoFut

Sensorized Future – Manufacturing industry meets global competition requirements

To stay competitive in global markets the manufacturers need a deeper understanding of in-situ and real-time capture of process data. For example, parameters such as temperature and pressure are important for quality and optimization. Increasing costs are not an option for the production of end components. The CORNET Project SensuFut offers the answer to the collection of these data using a sensor coating which can provide information on the workflow continuously.

Business potential e.g. in aerospace, the automotive industry and mechatronics

The primary target groups are companies, which manufacture components or work with processes under heavy load (thermal load and / or pressure). Typical industries with new business potential for SMEs are aerospace, machining, foundry, metal processing, the automotive industry and mechatronics. A second target group consists of companies across the entire value chain for such sensors.

SensoFut – Sensing temperature and pressure in harsh environments

The SME User Committee has given valuable feedback aimed at elongating the sensor life time, which has already been incorporated. A project website and several annual reports are in preparation. Furthermore, the results have been exhibited at the Hannover Fair 2015 as well as integrated in university lectures on mechanical engineering.
